Mexican Riviera Cruise
Sept. 19-26, 2004
Well everyone who went on the cruise had a fantastic time! Those of you who didn't get the opportunity to come along, really missed some fun times!

Here's who went:
Johnny & Eva Banuelos, Laura Batara & Byron Hudson, Mel & Eva Borras,
Robert & Christina Dwight, Martha & James Fealy, Ruben & Chris Gonzales,
Tom & Donna LeBlanc, Herlinda Lopez, Richard & Carol Lucero,
Roy & Carolina Ramos, Nancy Rodriguez, Rose & Donnie Satterfield

Day 1 We left Long Beach California in the late afternoon. The first day & evening were interesting since everyone had to "get their sea legs". The ship did rock and roll a bit once we were underway. Everyone managed to still have a good time even with the queasy stomachs and the occasional tilt to one side or the other. Everyone found their rooms and most of us had our luggage already waiting for us........ don't worry, it all turned up in due time. LOL...

Dinnertime found us all looking forward to our first group dinner. We did decide that every night we would all move to different tables so that we could all have the chance to sit and talk to each other. Yes, we were all seated together, well most of us, in the same section. But it was fun to be able to change seats and chat with everyone! Nope.. we didn't confuse Mauricio our head waiter tooooo much. LOL

Eventually, after exploring the ship, and enjoying some of the entertainment, we all found our cabins and spent a peaceful first night.

Day 2 Dawn broke and with the rising sun we found ourselves enjoying many of the events that day. Let's see if I can remember them all..... The Hairy Chest Contest, Day 1 of the Survivor Contest, Bingo, Trivia Contests, the Casino, the gym and spa, and of course all the FOOD!! Not to mention all the dancing we did. Everyone found something to do and had lots of things to talk about that night at dinner. Of course everyone was talking about Roy's entry in the Hairy Chest Contest......."STELLLLLA" and Donna's entry in the Survivor Contest!

Day 3 brought us Part 2 of the Survivor Contest, which Donna won.. imagine that a 50 year old beat out all the twenty somethings! More Bingo.. way to go Laura and Byron both winners, and the Slot machine Contest.. Richard & Donna made the finals! More great food was eaten by everyone, most folks got a nap in the day somewhere. Then it was time for Formal Night!

Everyone dressed in their finest and we all took photos on the grand staircase in the center of the ship. Although we did make the photographer a teensy bit annoyed when we kept taking photos with our personal cameras while he was trying to pose us... LOL... Dinner was fantastic as always.
The late evening found some of us in the Casino trying to make a quick buck, others could be found dancing away up on the Lido deck or down in one of the clubs.

Day 4 we found ourselves in Puerto Vallerta. Johnny & Eva, Richard & Carol were the adventurous ones and took the Rope Canopy tour where they swung & rappelled through the rain forest on ropes. Others went on shopping tours, or sight seeing tours. Donna & Tom missed dinner with the group since they were on the Pirate Ship Dinner Cruise, which didn't get back until just before the ship sailed.

Once again the nightlife brought out the "Teenager" in most of us, and you could find us dancing like fools in the clubs and on the Lido deck! Or eating ice cream and cake after midnight!

Day 5 brought us to Matzatlan. Another day where everyone had their own adventures planned. The Tequila factory tours, the shopping tours, sightseeing tours, and just plain old good fun. Mel and part of the group were adventurous and did the Para-Sail adventure!! Evening brought us back again to the dinner table to trade stories of our adventures, and later still back out on the dance floors.

Day 6 found us in Cabo San Lucas. Most of us just did our own little tour, and since Carol and Richard go there often, they were able to guide us to some of the fun spots. Byron's main wish was to go to CABO WABO, and so a bunch of us went! WOW... Thank's Byron for the suggestion. Again we were all dancing it up only this time it was in the middle of the day!! We had a great time. Others went shopping, or did like Carolina and just jumped in the water and laid on the beach! All of us agreed that the time spent in Cabo was much too short!

Evening found us with our second Formal Night. After dinner we all went to the Talent Show, where Johnny did his Elvis impersonation. WOW... he sings great, and he had all the moves. After the talent show, they had the "Bedtime Story". Roy was chosen out of the audience to participate. Oh MY Goodness!! That was THE FUNNIEST thing of the whole night! I think we all laughed until we had tears in our eyes. You will just have to see the tapes.

Day 7 was another "DAY At Sea". More fun activities during the day. In the late afternoon we made a plan to all meet just before sunset, on the Lido deck at the back of the ship. Everyone in our group had gotten a bottle of champagne in our cabins when we first boarded the ship. Seems that no one had opened their bottle. SO we all brought our champange, opened the bottles and toasted ourselves for having such a great trip. We also toasted to all of our classmates and a hope that we can have many more adventures together.

Then it was time for last dinner together. Dinner was fabulous, and our waiter had us doing a Conga Line around the dining room. Oh My........

Later Johnny entered the conga drum contest and was a winner! More dancing and fun was had by everyone! Some of us went to see the Ice Sculptures and Food Sculpture displays. They were fantastic! A few folks stood in the huge line for the Midnight Buffet where you could actually eat the displays!

Day 8 found us back in Long Beach saying our good-byes. We all agreed that it was the Best trip of our lives and that we couldn't wait to do it all over again!

I am certain that I may have left out some of the things we all did. But there were so many activities during the 7 days that they all blend together.

The following pages have photos of all of us enjoying ourselves on the Cruise. A BIG Thank you to Rose for putting them together and allowing me to put them up here for everyone to see!
